今天收到一则求救邮件:
Hi everyone,I need some advice here urgently. A pair olive-backed sunbirds nested in one of my hanging plants in the corridor. They started with 2 eggs but 1 went missing about a week ago.The female had been incubating faithfully for the last 2 weeks, leaving the nest only for brief periods to feed. Today, it didn't return since the afternoon break. Is the incubation period over and this egg is not going to hatch after all? Should I remove the egg and attempt artificial incubation?
后来终于有人回应了:
It is best to leave the egg alone. If the parents abandoned it, there must be a reason. It may be damaged.... Even if you succeed in incubating the egg, can you teach the chick to live life in the wild? To avoid prey? To look for food?...
有争议性吗?或许。但我总觉得,对待自然,不能单凭爱心。做决定前,不妨先问自己,对于自然到底了解多少?只有对事物真相了解透彻,才能做出最佳的决策呢。
